Requirements
- Experience in the construction industry is preferable
- Forklift experience essential

HGV DRIVER
Job Title: HGV Driver
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced HGV Driver to join our existing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting and offloading our products safely and efficiently from our site in Trim to sites across Ireland.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate heavy goods vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload goods onto the vehicle, ensuring proper securing and balancing of the load.
- Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries, taking into account factors such as traffic and weather conditions.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including weight limits, driving hours, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle to ensure its safe operation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate deliveries and address any issues or concerns.
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately and promptly, including delivery notes, logbooks, and any required documentation.
- Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transit, following proper handling and safety procedures.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with customers and other road users.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle malfunctions to the appropriate authorities or supervisors promptly.
Requirements:
- Valid HGV driving license (Class C or above) with a clean driving record.
- CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
- Experience in driving heavy goods vehicles, preferably in a commercial or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of transportation laws and regulations, including tachograph regulations and driving hours.
- Previous experience working with a HIAB crane would be advantageous.
- Fluency in English

We have just completed our Group’s new in-house training centre in our O’Reilly Barleystone Paving facility in Co. Cavan. The centre will facilitate and assist in the training and learning of all employees across the O’Reilly Group. This new centre will hold training courses such as manual handling and toolbox talks.
Our health and safety team created a quiet and bright learning environment to ensure all participants can utilise the space to aid in their career progression.
The Group’s training centre will be a key element in the development of the skills and knowledge of our staff. Apprenticeships, trainees and recruits will complete their necessary training in this location allowing them to flourish in their field of work.
